John Key tells us beating ISIS will most likely be a war of at least 10 years. Leon Panetta tells us it will be more like 30 years. Whoever you believe, the time we apparently have to accept dead soldiers coming home is a long one.
Yesterday a young man posted a message in the Facebook group called John Key has let down New Zealand. He told us that in the WINZ office he had to visit for an appointment a flatscreen was repeating time and again ads from NZ’s military to entice the unemployed to enlist. I have never had to visit a WINZ office but I can imagine sitting there in a depressing environment with no hope for a job and WINZ officers giving you the death stare for even contemplating having to ask for some financial support. It’s like telling you to commit suicide in a glamorous way.
What these ads and our Prime Minister don’t tell is that we will be a fighting in a war against an enemy so well funded by mysterious oil deals they are now fit to join the OPEC with a leader personally vetted by US senator McCain armed by US Arms dealers.
