Earthquake in Christchurch!!!!

An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude has struck Christchurch. Most of you know that this is the third time within a year. My deepest sympathy goes out to the people of Christchurch at this moment and I am greatly relieved that my sister in Law with her family are save.

As my sister in law is an experienced ER nurse and currently works for a centre specialised in fractures I expect she will be working through the night and my thoughts are with her.

  1. I live in the Waikato region so there is not an awful lot I can do from here other than keep everybody posted.
    Thanks for the link

  2. I’m very pleased to make your acquaintance too. Nice site and you talk a great deal of sense!

Here is a link to some of the devastation in Christchurch – photos.

If you live outside of Christchurch ask yourself what you can do for others. The basics are required, food, warmth, water, shelter and some good old fashioned caring ~ love.

Aroha to all our Christchurch family.

  3. Thank you for your concern and post.

The people of Christchurch awoke to a war zone yesterday and this morning bought a new light to the workings of NZ.

Our friends in the area are stressed, in fear, shock… textbook stuff. Visitors to the area are being offered transport out to free up accommodation which is already stretched due to months of shaking ~ almost 5000 aftershocks since the original September 4th quake. The crust has been destabilised after months of shallow quaking. (depths of 5-10kms)

The death toll is climbing rapidly and while this is happeneing note the amount of big news buried along with the quake in yesterdays headlines.

What is next we ask our leaders?…

    • Hi SouthIslandRose,

I just got the link to your site from Clare Swinney. Nice to meet you even under these horrible circumstances.
