Tony Blair is to face scathing criticism from the official inquiry into the Iraq War for the role he played in leading Britain into one of its biggest foreign policy fiascos in modern history.

The Mail on Sunday has been told that the former Prime Minister will be held to account on four main failings:

* Bogus claims that were made about Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction.

* Not telling the British public about his secret pledge with George Bush to go to war.

* Keeping the Cabinet in the dark by his ‘sofa government’ style.

*Failing to plan to avoid the post-war chaos in Iraq.

The damning verdict of the Chilcot Inquiry comes eight years after Tony Blair went to war against Saddam Hussein with George Bush

Well-placed sources say the reputations of Mr Blair and key allies will suffer major damage when the report by Sir John Chilcot’s Iraq War inquiry is published this autumn.

Mr Blair, former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and ex-Downing Street spin doctor Alastair Campbell are all expected to be criticised.

All those taken to task by Chilcot’s five-strong panel of experts will receive notice in the next few weeks of the inquiry’s conclusions.

Added to that do you remember him slating women who were “Breeding for welfare“? That is how he likes to talk about women. Like we are dumb breeders who fuck and get children for money!

And another thing how do you think you are going to get a job if there is no more or only very expensive childcare? Or if you want to take night classes so you can better yourself and get a better job? Those things will be gone or have already gone the way of the dinosaur. And why? Because John Doesn’t think that women need those things if they could just hold on to a man and be good little housewives.

When you go to the election booth in November do you have a man you can hold on too and who will pay for everything and who will make you into his nice little housewife or are you like most women in need of a second job in the family to make ends meet because, if you have man he doesn’t earn enough and if you are single you need a job because you have to feed your kids and in order to do so you need affordable childcare and maybe a night course to educate yourself and get a better job?

If the answer is the second half of the previous paragraph I suggest you look away from your babe du jour and keep your panties firmly around your tender parts and vote for someone who has your interest at hart.

John and Geithner go back a bit and it is most definitely not the first time their paths have crossed.

Timothey Geithner is currently the secretary of treasury and like ole Helicopter he oversees the biggest financial collapse in world history albeit form another perch. And this is how it should have been done for the 911 attacks too. Instead it was left to the Jersey girls and other family members to fight for more that a year to even get close to an investigation and when the commission started it’s investigation it was clear that the people on that committee was stacked with government insiders.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg says his government will set up an independent commission to investigate the shooting and bomb attack that killed at least 76 people last week.

Mr. Stoltenberg said Wednesday it is important to investigate all aspects of Friday’s twin attacks by a Norwegian ultranationalist to learn from what happened. At a news conference, the prime minister promised to review the performance of Norway’s security services after a period of national mourning for the victims.

Domestic critics say Norwegian police were slow to respond to the shooting attack that killed at least 68 people on the southern island of Utoeya, where hundreds of youth activists had gathered for a ruling Labor Party retreat.

Utoeya is about 40 kilometers from the capital, Oslo, where the confessed killer, Anders Behring Breivik, had detonated a car bomb shortly before going to the island. The blast killed eight people and wrecked Mr. Stoltenberg’s office building.

Food for thought: A Very Real Masonic Plot

Norway’s police and security services are controlled by Freemasons and have a long history, dating back to 1957 when NIS Director, Vilhelm Evang stumbled on a secret organization within his own Psywar and Counter-intelligence command that had compiled “death lists” of individuals, progressives, liberals and intellectuals.

In 1978, Norwegian financier Hans Otto Meyer was arrested on what would today be termed “terrorism” charges.  Tons of arms and explosives along with radio equipment were found at a cabin he owned.  Meyer said the cache belonged to Norwegian intelligence for use by clandestine civilian groups, such as those operating in Italy at the time.  Meyer was imprisoned, there was no investigation but the parallels are there, decades later, cover stories, denials, misinformation.

So who did John Key meet in the US ? no:1 Ben Helicopter” Bernanke.

John Key is on holiday. He travelled to his Hawaii pad for some much needed R&R and it’s a good thing he believes Rob Fyfe’s crap because I wouldn’t want to be holidaying in radiation rich paradise. He is resting from meeting very important people in Washington and California.

I thought I’s give you the run down on who these characters are from a perspective of someone who has been predicting the total economic collapse of the US and thus the rest of the world for the last four years and who has been reading up on the leading characters in the drama unfolding. So who has John Key been meeting:

Let’s start with Ben Bernanke!

Ben Bernanke according to his Wiki page is a gentlemen of Jewish decent and while he keeps his religion too himself (Like John Key) it is assumed that he is a practising Jew. He is an economics professor who was educated at Harvard and he has been a tenured professor until he became a member of the board of the Federal Reserve.  George Bush appointed him to be the Chairman of the board of the Federal Reserve of New York in 2006 and as such has been overseeing the collapse of the US economy over the last 5 years and will be doing so for the next 9 years as the appointment if for 14 years.

Ben Bernanke has a nickname. Ben “Helicopter” Bernanke. He did not get that nickname because he is fond of flying these machines but because of a doctrine he developed and which has been called the Bernanke doctrine. According to its wiki page the doctrine consists of 7 points:

1) Increase the money supply (M1 and M2).

“The U.S. government has a technology, called a printing press, that allows it to produce as many dollars as it wishes at essentially no cost.” “Under a paper-money system, a determined government can always generate higher spending and, hence, positive inflation.”^[1]

2) Ensure liquidity makes its way into the financial system through a variety of measures.

“The U.S. government is not going to print money and distribute it willy-nilly …”although there are policies that approximate this behavior.”^[1]

3) Lower interest rates – all the way down to 0 per cent.

Bernanke observed that people have traditionally thought that, when the funds rate hits zero, the Federal Reserve will have run out of ammunition. However, by imposing yields paid by long-term Treasury Bonds,

“a central bank should always be able to generate inflation, even when the short-term nominal interest rate is zero …[this] more direct method, which I personally prefer, would be for the Fed to announce ceilings for yields on all longer-maturity Treasury debt.”^[1]

He noted that Fed had successfully engaged in “bond-price pegging” following the Second World War.
4) Control the yield on corporate bonds and other privately issued securities. Although the Federal Reserve can’t legally buy these securities (thereby determining the yields); it can, however, simulate the necessary authority by lending dollars to banks at a fixed term of 0 per cent, taking back from the banks corporate bonds as collateral.
5) Depreciate the U.S. dollar. Referring to U.S Monetary Policy in the 1930s under Franklin Roosevelt, he states that:

“This devaluation and the rapid increase in money supply … ended the U.S. deflation remarkably quickly.”^[1]

6) Execute a de facto depreciation by buying foreign currencies on a massive scale.

“The Fed has the authority to buy foreign government debt … [t]his class of assets offers huge scope for Fed operations because the quantity of foreign assets eligible for purchase by the Fed is several times the stock of U.S. government debt.”^[1]

7) Buy industries throughout the U.S. economy with “newly created money” In essence, the Federal Reserve acquires equity stakes in banks and financial institutions. In this “private-asset option,” the Treasury could issue trillions in debt and the Fed would acquire it, still using newly created money.

In essence it comes down to: “Let’s print loads of money and buy real world assets with it and the rest of the population can go and get fucked.”

He gained the name Helicopter when he quoted Milton Friedman (Who was a close friend of Don Brash) about dropping freshly printed money out of a helicopter as a perfectly sane way of fighting deflation.

He famously refused to tell Congress who he gave money too with the big bailout of 2008 and oversaw the secret handout of some $ 16 trillion US to every bank under the sun in what might be called the biggest helicopter money drop of all times and  continues to help the private owners of the Federal Reserve to loot the planet on a grand scale.

Which leads me to another question I would like to ask John Key: Why did you have to meet with him and what did you discuss when you met him?

Many Americans have a hard time grasping just how large 16.1 trillion dollars is.  It is an amount of money that is almost inconceivable.  It is more than the GDP of the United States for an entire year.  It is more than the U.S. government has spent over the last four years combined.

False flag indicators recorded in the Norway attacks. So when will it happen here?

For those of us aware that elites throughout the ages have used False flag events to manipulate their populations into wars and other unfavourable directions every event out of the ordinary, violent and given to a populations in easy sound bites with a recognisable narrative is cause for concern.

A neat and complete story repeated a thousand times around the world and still stuff doesn’t add up and this is why:

• Like on 911 there was no response from the military or the police until it was way to late. In fact the helicopter response team was on holiday (according to Veteran today’s Gordon Duffy there are 6 rescue and response helicopters) and while a news helicopter was filming the progress of the massacre on the Island the police had to go to the Island by boat. Private citizens are reported to have saved about a hundred kids while the police were twiddling their thumbs.
• While the events is pictured as the result of inept police work they were able to pull finger and knew the name of the perpetrator before the arrest .
• According to Sky news the Nordic M15 had the alleged perpetrator in it’s visor from March onwards.
• There are reports of more than one shooter on the Island but only one of them is being put forward in the MSM.

Often in the run up and on the day itself there are exercises which are mirroring the future events. Did this happen in Norway? Well as it turned out there were exercises a year before and a day before the attacks in the Centre of Oslo which as you may recall was the stage of another alleged suicide bombing attack less than a year before the recent attack. In this attack it was alleged an Iraqi man was the perpetrator which begs the question: If it happened before why weren’t they more alert  for repeat performances?

While I don’t want to draw any conclusions yet let’s keep an open mind and let’s watch what’s happening around us in the mean time. Israeli backpackers, collapsing economies and six ongoing wars while the US is teetering on the brink while this country is chock-a-block with valuable resources and houses a population unwilling to privatise while our Prime minister talks with Geithner, Bernanke, Napolitano and gets a 1 on 1 in terrorism at the Pentagon. Who Rules America? An Investment Manager Breaks Down the Economic Top 1%, Says 0.1% Controls Political and Legislative Process

I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this: A highly complex and largely discrete set of laws and exemptions from laws has been put in place by those in the uppermost reaches of the U.S. financial system. It allows them to protect and increase their wealth and significantly affect the U.S. political and legislative processes. They have real power and real wealth. Ordinary citizens in the bottom 99.9% are largely not aware of these systems, do not understand how they work, are unlikely to participate in them, and have little likelihood of entering the top 0.5%, much less the top 0.1%. Moreover, those at the very top have no incentive whatsoever for revealing or changing the rules. I am not optimistic.

I sit in an interesting chair in the financial services industry. Our clients largely fall into the top 1%, have a net worth of $5,000,000 or above, and if working make over $300,000 per year. My observations on the sources of their wealth and concerns come from my professional and social activities within this group.

Work by various economists and tax experts make it indisputable that the top 1% controls a widely disproportionate share of the income and wealth in the United States. When does one enter that top 1%? (I’ll use “k” for 1,000 and “M” for 1,000,000 as we usually do when communicating with clients or discussing money; thousands and millions take too much time to say.) Available data isn’t exact. but a family enters the top 1% or so today with somewhere around $300k to $400k in pre-tax income and over $1.2M in net worth. Compared to the average American family with a pre-tax income in the mid-$50k range and net worth around $120k, this probably seems like a lot of money. But, there are big differences within that top 1%, with the wealth distribution highly skewed towards the top 0.1%.

The Lower Half of the Top 1%

The 99th to 99.5th percentiles largely include physicians, attorneys, upper middle management, and small business people who have done well. Everyone’s tax situation is, of course, a little different. On earned income in this group, we can figure somewhere around 25% to 30% of total pre-tax income will go to Federal, State, and Social Security taxes, leaving them with around $250k to $300k post tax. This group makes extensive use of 401-k’s, SEP-IRA’s, Defined Benefit Plans, and other retirement vehicles, which defer taxes until distribution during retirement. Typical would be yearly contributions in the $50k to $100k range, leaving our elite working group with yearly cash flows of $175k to $250k after taxes, or about $15k to $20k per month.

Oslo Police Conducted Bombing Exercise Days Before Terrorist Blast

Funny that! FEMA arrived the day before 911 in New York for a terrorist attack drill and on 7/7 the emergency services were doing a series of mock terror exercises.

According to the translated version of an Aftenposten report, “Anti-terror police fired explosive charges at a training center in Oslo, two hundred meters from the Opera, but forgot to notify the public.”

The exercise occurred on Wednesday and revolved around anti-terror units attacking a disused building at the edge of Bjørvika pier with bombs and firearms.

“The men lowered themselves down from the roof and in through the window that had just been blown out, while they fired hand their weapons,” states the report, noting that the exercise was “dramatic,” produced “violent bangs,” and was watched by spectators at the nearby Opera House.

US Marines to visit New Zealand

The United States has accepted an invitation from Prime Minister John Key to send Marines to New Zealand for the 70th anniversary of their landing here in World War II.

Key confirmed the invitation was accepted after meetings with US officials today.

The Marines would come to New Zealand in in a ceremonial capacity only.

Key said details of the visit – such as how many Marines would come – had yet to be worked out.

What do John Key, Bank of America and Europe have in common? Pending bankruptcy!

John Key is a very rich man and I doubt if he will ever go back to being very poor but it remains to be seen how rich rich is in his case as the global financial system continues to collapse. He was purported to be worth $ 50 million upon his return from the big apple and his looting spree on Wall street as the Derivatives and Bonds director.

According to the ownership statements on the government site John owns shares in the Bank of America. The Bank of America is one of the “too big to fail” banks. He was given these shares in lieu of the shares he owned in the Merrill Lynch bank when it was bought for a song and a dance by BofA after it’s spectacular  collapse in 2007 due to it’s irresponsible machinations in the afore mentioned Bonds and Derivatives trade.

It remains to be seen how much of John Key’s wealth is translated into shares, derivatives and bonds but in an educated guess I would say that it probably runs in the double digit millions as he would consider long term investment in shares in to big to fail banks to be pretty secure and while he has done some investment into real world business he is and always will be a bankster relying on the system he made his dosh in.

The problem is that unless he sold his shares say a year ago he has lost a terrible amount of his wealth in just over 9 months and it is still plummeting.

Zionist Israeli spy nest uncovered in Christchurch? Remember the dancing Israelis on 911!

Due to the exceptional nature of this information I have taken the exceptional step to copy and paste the entire article because I have a sneaky suspicion that this article will disappear very soon again.

The police national computer has been under scrutiny in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquake in February because of fears Israeli agents loaded software into the system that would allow backdoor access to highly sensitive intelligence files.

The Security Intelligence Service ordered the checks as part of an urgent investigation of what one SIS officer described as the suspicious activities of several groups of Israelis during and immediately after the earthquake.

Three Israelis were among the 181 people who died when the earthquake destroyed most of Christchurch’s central business district on February 22. One was found to be carrying at least five passports.

An unaccredited Israeli search and rescue squad was later confronted by armed New Zealand officers and removed from the sealed-off “red zone” of the central city.

 

The response of the Israeli government to the three deaths appears extraordinary. In the hours after the 6.3 quake struck:

 

• Prime Minister John Key fielded the first of four calls that day from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

• Israel’s Ambassador in the South Pacific, Shemi Tzur, who is based in Australia, booked flights to Christchurch, where he visited the morgue.

• Israel’s civil defence chief left Israel for Christchurch.

• A complete Israeli urban search and rescue squad was assembled and flown to Christchurch, arriving about the same time as …

• Three people who had smashed their way out of a van crushed by a concrete pillar in the central city, leaving a fourth person dead in the vehicle, arrived back in Israel.

Those four Israelis – Ofer Benyamin Mizrahi, 23, from Kibbutz Magal near Haifa, Michal Fraidman, Liron Sade and Guy Jordan – would later become a prime focus of the SIS investigation, along with the Israeli search and rescue squad and a group of forensic analysts from Israel that worked in the Christchurch morgue helping to identify earthquake victims.

The four, two men and two women, had been shopping in the central city on the morning of the earthquake and had returned to their van, parked in Gloucester St, when the quake hit. Mizrahi, the driver, was killed instantly, and Jordan, in the front passenger seat, smashed a window and climbed through the hole to escape. The two women, Fraidman and Sade, who were sitting in the back seat, also managed to crawl out.

They were unable to reach Mizrahi and, after taking photographs of the crushed van, made their way to Latimer Square, where Israeli officials had set up an emergency meeting point. Within 12 hours they had left New Zealand.

On Sunday, February 26, Mizrahi’s body was recovered from the van and taken to the morgue where, during routine identity checks, he was found to be carrying at least five passports.

Meanwhile, the search and rescue squad dispatched from Israel had arrived in Christchurch but the offer of help was rejected by New Zealand authorities because the squad did not have accreditation from the United Nations.

According to Israeli newspaper reports, the squad was being funded by the parents of two other Israelis killed in the earthquake, Ofer Levy and Gabi Ingel, both 22, who were said to be in New Zealand on a backpacking holiday. The parents made repeated public appeals for the Israeli team to join the rescue, appeals that were dismissed by the New Zealand authorities until squad members were discovered in the sealed off “red zone” of the central city.

It is understood the squad members were confronted by armed New Zealand officers and removed from the area. That confrontation is understood to have led to intense diplomatic exchanges between New Zealand and Israel, though police have refused to comment on the incident or even acknowledge that it occurred, and the Israeli ambassador says he had not been advised of any such incident.

Another Israeli group, a forensic analysis team sent by the Israeli government, was welcomed in Christchurch and worked on victim identification in the morgue.

However, the SIS also began to have suspicions about this group when it began investigating possible links between the cache of passports found with Mizrahi, the immediate flight of his three companions, the high-powered Israeli interest shown in the earthquake, the unexplained behaviour of the supposed “search and rescue squad” and a mysterious seventh Israeli, in New Zealand illegally, who was first reported missing in the quake and then, weeks later, was reported to have left the country. They were also interested in the Facebook tribute page set up for Mizrahi that has attracted only five “likes” in the more than four months it has been on the social media site.

When it was realised the forensic analysts could have accessed the national police computer database, an urgent security audit was ordered.

As the SIS officer explained, it would take only moments for a USB drive to be inserted in a police computer terminal and loaded with a program allowing remote backdoor access.

“We were concerned that could have happened,” the officer said.

“We carried out an urgent audit. If it had been done it would eventually have given the Israelis access to all of our intelligence.”

The national database holds all records of convictions, firearms licences, lost and stolen property, criminal behaviour and identifying marks and observations taken by police. It is capable of sophisticated searching and data matching. The officer said the audit had not identified any suspicious files so far, but a wider SIS investigation was continuing.

“It all looks suspicious, but a lot of what the Israelis do raises suspicion. So lots of smoke but we haven’t found any fires. The file remains open though.”

Intelligence agencies have become hypersensitive to sophisticated hacking after the malware “agent.btz” was infiltrated into the computer systems of United States Military Command three years ago.

The US believes Russian agents were responsible and Deputy Defence Secretary William Lynn has described it as “a digital beachhead” for a foreign intelligence agency to attempt to steal data. Attempts to remove the malware have so far been unsuccessful – new, more potent variations of agent.btz are still appearing.

The SIS officer said the agency was also aware of a comment posted on the website of the Russian newspaper Pravda that the Christchurch earthquake had disrupted an Israeli spy base in the city.

The Southland Times asked police national headquarters for comment on the actions and activities of various Israeli groups after the earthquake. After considering the request for nine days, the police issued a brief statement, attributed to Assistant Commissioner Malcolm Burgess, confirming that three Israelis had died in the earthquake, that the van in which Mizrahi died had been recovered and examined, that police had not been involved in the decision to exclude the Israeli search squad, and that “police do not discuss or disclose details of personal effects found with any of the 181 victims”.

Mr Tzur, also approached for comment, said it was “science fiction” that any Mossad agents had been involved.

No shit: John Key is very worried about the US economy!

John Key is going to visit the US and he is granted an audience with the new Emperor! You know the one of ebony colour and great skills in the verbal department. the pied piper who chanted: “Yes we can”  with all the children Americans following him thinking he really meant Change! 

It turns out that John Key is very worried about the US economy and if I were him I would be too. Maybe the fact that he has millions of dollars in shares, derivative and bonds in the Bank of America and since he was the head of the bonds and derivatives department of Merrill Lynch Europe he should know something about these fancy new fangled financial products he sold to unsuspecting pension funds and the like.

He also knows that if America goes belly up and the US banks collapse under the weight of all their crappy financial toilet paper he will loose much of the fortune he spend 20 years amassing and that can’t be a nice feeling.

Added to that you might begin to ask yourself if perhaps signing a free trade agreement with a country on the verge of total collapse might actually be a good idea. I can tell you one thing; John Key knows it is not but try telling that to the good ole boys of the farmers federation who still think that their milk will carry the day even if nobody can afford to pay for it any more with all their currency inflating to nothing.

The US is screwed with or without the QE3. There is no more economy. All the jobs have gone to China and when Americans can no longer afford to spend their credit card credit and second mortgage loans on the plastic crap they produce in China, China will also collapse and John Key will be sort of between a rock and a hard place.

He’s a bankster and some day soon the population of New Zealand are going find out the hard way what that means  and why he is a traitor to this country. With a bit of luck he will use his last money to take a plane to Hawaii with his wife and children were he will drink radioactive milk while he contemplates how it could go so terribly wrong while we here in New Zealand have to clean up the mess he left behind.

But don’t worry, he is going to use his visit to the Ebony One to ascertain what direction the US thinks it’s going to go and he being a bankster who is used to people trying to be honest so he can screw them over thinks that the Emperor with the enchanting smile, the voice of an angel and the mind of a slithering snake will tell him honestly and he will be saved.

He’ll be lucky if they let him live but all it will cost him is the future of New Zealand and all its resources.

The global economic collapse is progressing and accelerating!

Sometimes when I read the news and the blogs specialised in Economics and the collapse in progress I think about my friend A. I ran afoul of my friendship with him but I prefer to still think of him as a friend as he helped us out when we first arrived here in NZ.

A. is  a dairy farmer  and therefore a National voter almost by default. We talked about 911 and the inevitable economic collapse and as you might expect he thought we (husband and I) were conspiracy nuts and we inevitably ran afoul with each other when I had the audacity to call ANZAC day a celebration of militarism and that the poor sods killed in the rich men’s wars were merely pawns in the propaganda wars to promote continued involvement in illegal wars of aggression and conquest.

He also thought that if America were to collapse there would always be China to sell his milk too and when I explained that China was like the bar with only one or two customers drinking on credit and that China would collapse when it turned out these customers could not pay the bill predictably he thought that I had no idea what I was talking about.

I wonder what he thinks now?

With QE3 looming and the prices going up and the Eurozone collapsing before our very eyes. With China bubbling away, stumbling towards economic collapse building empty cities and tens of thousands of middle class families sleeping in their cars or tents and no end insight as there are no more jobs and factories are closed and exported to China?

I wonder what he thinks now about John Key with his millions of shares in collapsing banks which only will survive if they bankrupt the real world with taxes and inflation and fraudulent debt?

Harawira refuses to speak oath in English, asked to leave the House (full speech)

Hone Harawira MP newly elected MP for Te Tai Tokerau and Leader of the Mana Movement, has been asked to leave the house for his refusal to speak the oath he is required to make in English, instead he presented Te Tiriti o Waitangi. As a result, he was not sworn in and was asked to come back on the House’s next sitting day, which is Tuesday 2nd August.

As Mr Harawira left the chamber, his supporters who were in the Gallery sung a waiata tautoko, which the Speaker of the House asked passively to cease.

Green Party MP, Marion Street, made a point of order asking that Mr Harawira be allowed to repeat the oath in English as she was allowed during her swearing in. The Speaker of the House denied this request, saying what Hone had done was against the law and rules of the House.

While National Party MP Bill English suggested that he not be allowed to repeat the oath and made the point that those in the gallery be possibly punished for singing their waiata, and thereby “not respecting” the rules of the house.  Russell Norman of the Greens supported his colleges’ point of order and again asked that Mr Harawira be allowed to repeat his oath.

The speaker, then asked if there were any objections, there were, so the request to repeat the oath was not denied.

It’s been just over 2 months since we launched MANA to be a movement away from the politics of fear and compromise, a movement based on the authority of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the mana of both parties to that contract, a movement that values the rights of families over corporate endeavour and the needs of children over an education system geared to ensure Maori failure, a movement focused on improving the status of those who work, those denied work, and those in genuine need, and a movement that honours the efforts of those who have fought to give us all a place to be proud of, a genuine movement of the People.

And it’s been just a few weeks since the people of the Tai Tokerau achieved a truly great victory; a victory against the country’s biggest political machine, a victory against the old school politics of denying change, a victory against money, a victory against prejudice, a victory against a racist media, and a victory that I dedicate today to the memory of Hone Heke Ngapua, Tai Tokerau’s greatest ever MP, and Matiu Rata the leader of Mana Motuhake, and Muriwhenua’s favourite son.

And it is because of the determination of the people of the Tai Tokerau and those who came to support us in our campaign for freedom, that today I returned to the New Zealand House of Representatives as the leader of the MANA Movement, not to the dark corners where I had been dispatched by those who would wage war on their own while sleeping with the enemy, but to the front benches of parliament, in recognition of MANA’s status as the newest and most energetic political movement in Aotearoa.

Today as I returned to the House, I carried in my hands a copy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, as a mark of respect for the efforts of Tahupotiki Wiremu Ratana, and activists of every generation since 1840, to see the Treaty honoured, and today I pledge to continue their work until the day that the Treaty takes it rightful place as the cornerstone of this nation’s constitution.

So today, although we may be just a little late in celebrating Matariki, today we say farewell to the bad old days and today we celebrate a new dawn, a new beginning, and an exciting new future.

Because I think that for the first time in a long, long time, ordinary people are sensing that they may finally have a voice in Parliament that represents a growing sector of New Zealand society – those who are poor, those who are marginalised, and those who have to struggle every week just to scrape together enough money to feed the family and pay the bills.

And right now in this country there are a growing number of people living in poverty. It’s not that they want to be there – it’s just that there isn’t the political will to stand against the tide of international takeovers and ruthless free-market economics that are crushing our people.

And that’s what MANA’s here for …

MANA will address issues that the people want answers to – issues around poverty, the skyrocketing cost of living, stagnant wages, and the impossibility of the ‘quarter acre dream’. These are the real issues that affect Rangi and Joe in communities throughout Aotearoa.

These of course are issues that Maori are all too familiar with, having placed our faith in Labour for more than 70 years. And yet today we find ourselves in the same dismal state of affairs as when the first Labour Maori MP was elected in 1932. For all their promises, Labour has made no real difference in the status of Maori as second-class citizens in our own land, and their choice to be a centrist party confirms their rejection of their own working class roots.

The other major political force in this country has of course been National, who have only ever had one interest – looking after the rich. They believe blindly in the theory that the market will provide (even when we see how the market crashes and governments have to bail it out), and they continue to blame beneficiaries for being a burden on the taxpayer, when most beneficiaries are there by virtue of the free-market economics that the Nats support.

In 2005 the Maori Party burst onto the political scene, as the first independent political voice for Maori and most of us, me included, were proud to be part of that change.

Unfortunately however, before we’d even gotten wet behind the ears we’d signed up to a coalition deal with National and ACT, and it quickly became clear to me and to thousands of other members of the Maori Party that our once proud claim to ‘independence’ was no longer.

And although I raised many critical issues with my colleagues at Council meetings and in caucus, it also became clear that the Maori Party would sacrifice one of their own MPs rather than jeopardise their ministerial perks and their deals with John Key, Rodney Hide and Don Brash.

Yet despite our differences, and even after winning the by-election, I was still moved to extend an olive branch to see if we could minimise any conflict and maximise the number of Maori seats in parliament. The answer from the Maori Party was clear and unequivocal – NO.

Since then of course, Maori Party supporters from all over the country have been ringing MANA leaders to say they can’t believe that a party with so much to lose would not seek a peace deal with MANA.

But that’s a decision that their leaders have taken (even though I now hear that they want to change their minds … again). But you know how the saying goes – fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice … no thanks. The people deserve better than that.

And so tomorrow we turn ourselves to the challenges that lie ahead of MANA – of building branches dedicated to the needs of the members rather than the demands of party politics, with electorates actively demonstrating their capabilities so that MANA MPs can see where the real power lies, building a national movement based on honesty and integrity, and selecting MPs chosen for their demonstrated commitment to kaupapa and their willingness to put the needs of their people before the expectations of parliamentary procedure.

Already we are seeing people in their hundreds joining MANA from Te Rerenga Wairua to the Bluff. Branches have been formed, committees are being elected, and ideas for a better tomorrow are flowing in along with the flood of goodwill and support that bodes well for the upcoming election in November.

And as we turn to the future, political commentators are already saying that the worst we can do is to increase our party vote and bring in one or two more MPs. At best, we will add one or two of the Maori seats to that.

With ACT struggling to make any headway under the leadership of the race-baiting idiot from the deep south, and the Maori Party taking a real pounding in the polls, National’s coalition is in real strife, opening the door for a MANA, Green, Labour coalition to win the treasury benches.

And despite Phil Goff saying that he won’t work with me, everyone knows that if he needs MANA’s numbers, he’ll either give me a ring or be consigned to the political dustbin of history.

So today is a great day for us all.

We already have some of the best Maori and left-leaning minds in the country working on policies and solutions that ordinary people can understand.

From kaumatua and kuia in Kaitaia, to millworkers in Kawerau, the homeless in Auckland, students in Palmerston North, public servants in Wellington, farmers in Canterbury and oyster-shuckers down the Bluff – everybody will know what we stand for.

There’s not a lot of time from now to the election, so we aim to keep our messages simple, we want our messengers to be people you know and trust, we plan to use every form of media we can, but most importantly, we want to win the hearts and minds of ordinary Maori and non-Maori in this country, and we want you to add a spice of MANA to the korero you have with your whanau, your friends and your neighbours, as you debate the upcoming elections and the fastest growing political movement in the country – your movement – MANA.

And just who might some of those messengers be?

Well, at our founding hui in Whangarei, one of our leaders spoke of people having a “fat kaupapa belt”, people with belts that have got a few notches in it, people with history in fighting for human rights, people who have made a difference in other people’s lives, people with experience, people that other people respect, people with their own MANA, people like Annette Sykes and John Minto.

Both of them have accepted roles as interim co-vice presidents of the MANA Movement and both of them are people I would be proud to have stand by my side, because they are exactly the kinds of leaders that MANA will need if we are to make a difference, at the polls, and in the lives of those marginalised in today’s society.

We have momentum, we have righteousness, but we need more, and so as I close today let me just ask this of us all …

• Let us commit ourselves to policies that bring a sea change to the way in which we do politics in this country
• Let us commit ourselves to a programme of hard work and honest endeavour so that our people believe what it is we say.
• Let us commit ourselves to a future where the treaty lives, where rangatiratanga sits comfortably alongside kawanatanga, where Maori are lifted to a place of genuine equality in all spheres of life, and where every other citizen can thrive in this most blessed of countries
• Let us commit ourselves to developing a set of principles that will guide us in all we do, not as a political party but as a movement of the people
• Let us commit ourselves to changing our own lives so that we become the leaders that our people want to follow, and
• Let us commit ourselves to one another, to our families, to our children, and to those generations yet unborn

• The regime in Israel is committing war crimes using Judaism which is a religion as an argument to commit genocide and suppress the Palestinian population in what is a purely secular crime spree.
• There is nothing anti-Semitic in wanting to speak in favour of Justice for the Palestinian population who are another people who speak a Semitic language.
• Zionism is a purely secular political movement which while using Judaism is nothing more than an ordinary land grab in a resource (oil and gas) rich area which the West wants for itself without having to compensate the local native populations.
• Jews have been living for millennia in Arab countries peacefully co-existing with local populations both before and after the prophet Mohammed taught about Islam and both religions accept a common ancestry and while Jews do not accept Jesus as a prophet, Muslims do but without the vitriolic hatred towards Jews that Christians have  in Europe.
