I wrote last week that this blog would deal with news around the BP oil gusher. The day after my announcement BP closed the well. Or so we were told. This stuck me as wildly optimistic but I choose to give it the benefit of the doubt and waited.
I did not have to wait long. In the last couple of weeks you know, news had been coming out about seepage other cracks in the surface and one of the reasons for BP not to want to close the well on previous occasions was the fear that the sea floor would just blow out and release not just huge amounts of oil bit also methane into the sea and into like it or not into the atmosphere.
While I am sure that the MSM will put a positive spin on it what is now clear is that there are problems with the well cap and that in the area around the well there are several cracks releasing both oil and methane into the ocean.
