Today I found a website called “if Americans knew” it was one of the most comprehensive sites about the Israel/Palestinian conflict.
New Zealand, in its unconditional support for the war in Afghanistan has proven itself to be ignorant in the world’s affairs. To most Kiwis Palestinians are just terrorists, we’re fighting the Taliban as if it were a cohesive group that needs exterminating for fear of contaminating the rest of the world with its extremist views, and al Qaeda is a determined disciplined army of Arab terrorists led by mastermind Osama Bin Laden set on destroying the western way of life and its “freedoms”.
No one questions the official story, for most Kiwis it is all far from their bed, and no one seems to wonder how this could possibly connect to New Zealand. War is happen because there are evil people and they must be fought.
This website might just as well be called “if the New Zealanders knew”.
